Buildings at Risk Survey

At the SCAS Annual General Meeting on 18th May 2009, James White, Heritage Regeneration Officer, described a project to survey historic buildings in Leicester to identify those which were at risk.

Leicester Civic Society was already helping and SCAS undertook to cover Stoneygate. We completed the task while the weather and length of daylight were conducive to tramping the streets.

Most houses had just a cursory inspection from the road and only where there was dilapidation and signs of being unoccupied was a property recorded in more detail.

Further information can be found on the Heritage Conservation section of the Leicester City Council website.
