Heritage Open Days 2023 – 7th to 17th September

It’s that time of year again when we get the opportunity to take explore some of those fascinating buildings in Leicester which are not always open to the public.  Once again, there’s a variety of events and venues to interest everyone. Whether it’s a guided walk, tea in the Unitarian Chapel, or marvelling at the Georgian splendour of Winstanley House. There is loads to choose from – and it’s all free!

Although there are no specific events in Stoneygate, many feature architects and designers whose buildings are found in the area. The likes of Goddard’s masterpiece of St James the Greater church, and the Midland Bank building (ISKON) on Granby Street and the mystery of Gimson’s angels are just two “local” architects featured in the dozens of visits and activities on offer.

Some of the activities require booking in advance but others are drop ins and wandering. You can find more details in the link here and download a brochure. Happy exploring.
