SCAS Conservation Area Enhancement Award

At our AGM in May, the committee revealed that it has been working on a Conservation Area Enhancement award to formally recognise the improvements to properties and gardens in the conservation area.

Why an award?

The aim of the award is to highlight good work, encourage imitation and promote conservation, restoration and good design in the area. The scheme was launched in our August newsletter, and we invite submissions for formal consideration.

Award Criteria

Nominated work can be any enhancement to the area that can be seen from the road, regardless of cost or size.

Examples might include

  • Boundary wall, hedge or fence treatment
  • Preservation or reinstatement of an architectural feature
  • Reinstatememt of a garden or tree
  • Paving and landscaping
  • Sculpture
  • Sympathetic building extensions
  • Hanging baskets or other floral display

Who can nominate?

Any one can make a nomination : Local property owners, residents, SCAS members, Councillors. Entries will be judged by the SCAS committee.

How do I nominate?

Please send your nominations, including a description and address for the works, and ideally, a photograph of the works to: admin@stoneygateconservation.org You can also nominate by post to : 2 Clarendon Park Road, Leicester, LE2 3AD. Don’t forget to include you own name and contact details.

The closing date for nominations is November 8th 2025. The winner will be announced in the April 2026 Newsletter and the award presented at the 2026 AGM.
